Entrepreneurship at
UW-Oshkosh

The Culver Business Model Competition is the Center’s signature annual competition, giving UW Oshkosh’s most talented student entrepreneurs the chance to compete for seed funding and exclusive access to venture development resources; open to ventures at any stage of development, from initial concept to already operational businesses, and led by any student or student team enrolled at UW Oshkosh or in a related UWO CAPP course. The top two finalists qualify to compete in Fox Connection’s The Pitch. The overall winner earns the opportunity to compete in the WI Big Idea Tournament (WBIT).

Oshkosh’s Student Success at The Pitch

UW-Oshkosh students took first place in 2022, 2021, and 2019, and have finished in the money six times. In 2021, UW-O students captured two of the top three spots at The Pitch.

We believe that entrepreneurship isn’t just for business majors: it’s for anyone with an idea worth pursuing. Whether you’re a student ready to launch your first venture, a small business owner looking to grow, or a community leader working to strengthen the regional economy, we’re here to connect you with the education, mentorship, funding opportunities, and networks you need to succeed.

We inspire entrepreneurial thinking and develop the skills that drive economic growth — through hands-on programs, real-world competitions, and ecosystem-building initiatives that extend well beyond the classroom.
